So who am I and what do I do…..and why do I do it?
My name’s Chris and Im 37 and lived in Hull most of my life. I attained my full qualification in this field from Hull College some years ago and happily earning a living ever since.
The field of joinery/carpentry/woodworking (whatever you want to call it) is broad and covers many specialised areas. I have no problems in admitting I am not a master of them all…..very few are in fact. But what I do is focus on where my creative passions lie and that is in the more refined field of woodworking and the redesigning of living spaces….and this I’m very good at. This is the field of cabinetry, cupboards, drawers and storage spaces. Wardrobes, alcove units and floating shelving, and furniture such as beds, tables and bookcases etc. This area of woodworking requires very fine margins of accuracy where a millimeter is a big deal, and I enjoy that level of attention to detail. Turning raw materials into something not only visually pleasing but ergonomically refined is a methodical process I find both challenging and enjoyable….and this is why I do it.
