The Woodworking and Power Tool Show:
This is literally my Ibiza….Las Vegas….Utopia. A smorgasbord of stalls of tools and all things woodworking. My little child eyes flicker with excitement like Christmas morning as I manoeuvre my way around the venue seeking out new toys, bargains and discovering new products.
The event is held twice a year. Once at Newark around March and the other in Harrogate in November. My old wood machinist, Terry, from my time at college told me of this magical place and Ive been just about every year since….The girl on the Triton Stand even recognises me now. I even had a nice chap and his wife stop me to say hello as they recognised me from my social media interactions – I felt like a little celebrity for a few minutes. But it’s a nice friendly place to meet other folks who share a similar enthusiasm and exchange ideas, stories and experiences.
The offerings here cover everything from tools and accessories, consumables and general supplies, various wood species, machinery, finishing products and live demonstrations from some of the countries top furniture makers, wood turners, scroll saw artists, wood carvers and rocking horse makers. For 8 quid it’s a good day out…..and Im looking forward to the next one.
